Welcome to our revamped site!

Like most websites, dw-wp.com is a perpetual work-in-progress and we are always fiddling around behind the scenes, adding and changing features, strategizing our content, and so on. However, over this summer we have put in a whole mess of updates with our amazing designer Nadine Lessio and are proud to announce what amounts to a relaunch of this site.

At first glance, it may not seem different, but explore the orange tabs at the top of the page and you’ll see that we’ve restructured things in a major way. Our biggest goal in this re-design is to help the wide variety of visitors to this site find the material that is relevant and useful to them.

A new welcome mat for site users:

First and foremost, our new How to use this site tab leads you to four main entryways to the site: for educators, students, cartoonists, and readers. Each tab will give you an overview of  what the site has to offer you along with some popular and suggested links.

A place to compile oft-used resources:

The next tab over, Resources, is very much in a preliminary stage but the plan is to fill it with all kinds of free resources for teaching and learning about comics. Right now you’ll find our teacher and student book guides to DWWP and Jessica’s oft-used What is a Graphic Novel? poster, handout, (and soon: slideshow). But in the future you will find  the book guides to Mastering Comicsa glossary and appendices from both books, and downloadable files like our 9-panel grid for jam comics.

A place to buy our books:

We have a Store now. Currently you can find links to buy DWWP and other books by Jessica and Matt. In the near future, we plan to offer pdfs of individual chapters of DWWP for sale, making it easier for you to customize your teaching and learning experience.

Other ways to search for content:

Finally, we have rethought the ways you can search and explore the site. In addition to the standard search window, you can now Browse by tags (upper right corner), giving you a tagcloud of our many tags, or you can select a category (at the bottom of the right-hand vertical menu) to view an archived, sortable list of posts on a given topic.

Welcome to the new DW-WP.com! Let us know what you think!
