What’s happening with Mastering Comics: some reviews and interviews

our first ever sale of Mastering Comics, at TCAF 2012

Mastering Comics has been out for over a month now, and we’ve been receiving interviews about it and seen many good reviews around the web.  Here are some of the places you can find out more:

In our interview with MTV Geek‘s Danica Davidson, we were asked about the differences between Drawing Words and Writing Pictures and Mastering Comics and who we want to reach out to.  We explain that as well as a bit about some of the categories we cover in the new book. We’re in this post by A.V. Club on the latest graphic novels and art comics, we have a review by Internal Correspondence v.2, and Mastering Comics is mentioned in Matt’s 15 Questions interview with Julinda Morrow on Sequential Highway. Another interview with Matt just appeared on Robot 6 where he talks about the title “Mastering Comics”, issues around publishing, and the potential of webcomics. Over on his blog, Matt made a more personal appeal to readers about the new book.

Looking ahead, we’ll have interviews out soon on The Comics Reporter, The Comics Journal online, and more.

Here’s our Goodreads page where those who’ve read our book can post their own reviews and ratings, so you can check that out as time goes by as well.

    Matt, looking dapper as usual.

Congratulations to you both. My copy is on its way, I’m really looking forward to it.

It’s Tara, who has a good level of mastery already. I look forward to buying and reading and learning from the book soon.

Thanks, Jim, lost track of her name, she does a webcomic I think, right? Hope you enjoy the book, being someone with quite a level of mastery yourself (we’d love to hear what you think about the writing and collaboration sections).

Yes, Tara Tallan (nee Jenkins), who does Galaxion , which she started before the word webcomics was coined, I think.

And thanks for the compliment! Even though I’ve done this for a while, I know there’s plenty to learn from you and Jessica, and look forward to that. I expect my comments will mostly be along the lines of “Yup, that’s the way it works — or should work — for me too!”

Now, back to writing the story I’m supposed to be writing! (Do you have a chapter on procrastination?)
