Jonathan Dalton, Lil’ Ulysses in Chicago, Funday Sunnies, 2009.
A great homage to Little Nemo—I love the idea that the Nemo character dreams himself into real life. The Chicago streetscape feels authentic without being clearly specific to any one place. I am confused as to the significance of the name Ulysses—James Joyce? Homer? Random? I mean, yes, he’s on a journey, but…nonetheless, it’s a strong one-page story.
