Here are a few cartoonist websites we’ve come across that may be of use to students and  teachers of comics. There are a lot of great cartoonist websites out there but these ones (among others) lay bare some of the different ways that artists go about creating their work.

In addition to showcasing her amazing sketches and illustrations-in-progress, Jillian Tamaki‘s sketchblog has some great advice for keeping a sketchbook, as in this post here.

Mike Cho and Sean Phillips‘ blogs detail their creative processes, from sketches to finals.

Kazu Kibuishi‘s comics tutorial offers a photo-essay documenting is process in drawing and coloring a page from his webcomic, Copper. He also has a tutorial about flatting, the first, essential stage of digital coloring.

Hope Larson has started a Ning devoted to making and talking about comics, especially YA.
