We have already tweeted about the Brazilian anthology/comics collective Béleleu here: they’re ever-expanding domino jam comic—where three-panel strips continually branch off each other—is both ambitious and highly entertaining.
Well, now comes news that they are entering the comics workshop game, and they have posted the results of a recent workshop on their blog. They did a jam comic modeled on our jam comic rules (from DWWP, chapter 1, Extra credit: directed jam comic; see here and here for more) but with an intriguing additional feature: each one-page comic is assigned a setting, a character, and an object in addition to one of our rules. It seems to me this is a useful variation as it helps people—especially beginners—a little bit more material to latch on to when they’re getting started. The example below starts from: bottom of the sea, a duck, and a skeleton, along with the rule that it needs to be a wordless comic:
You’ll find more examples—many of them wordless—on their blogpost about the workshop.
