Our exhibition at the Huntington Museum had a very teachable angle: since there was some more recent work of ours in the LitGraphic show, open at the same time, we went with an “early work” approach for this exhibition.
…including vitrines of stuff both comics (early minis) and not (T-shirts, band flyers).
We took our workshop students through the show, and it was very convenient, if also a bit embarrassing, to be able to point out to them all kinds of early approaches to comics, other paths not taken, and lots and lots of mistakes there in person.
